Rationalism vs Faith

Rationalism vs Faith.

The human race has done and will do nothing but learn, nothing but explore, nothing but try to get to the roots and start of everything on this earth. Due to the fact that knowledge is the most important and precious thing in our world, us humans will KILL to find it. A person will dedicate their life to discover or understand something in their interest. Nowadays, our knowledge comes from hard facts, nothing is “known” unless it has been physically proven. This is simply known as being “rational” meaning you are very dependant on knowledge and the “proven” ways of life. But why do some people believe this to be pointless? It’s because those people see a future in “faith”- meaning Religion. To some people religion is everything; THIS is what they dedicate their life to, they are very dependant on the religion they practice and believe that that is the only way of life. Then there are those people that are both; rational and faithful. In these recent generations, I strongly believe that this is the best way to go. Being rational is important for the sake of common sense however being faithful is important because believing in something other than what is right in front of us is important. If religions didn’t exist, we wouldn’t have that belief of the “unknown”.

Nowadays, it isn’t really balanced out; people are either obsessed with the idea of religion or very reliant on FACTS! This causes all the arguments, and disagreements. This also gives people the freedom to judge one another, the very rational part of our population thinks the faithful part is hopeless in the sense that they believe in what is not real and to them this is a very stupid concept but if you talk to a religious, faithful person they will tell you the exact opposite- those who rationalize are hopeless and have no “ path of life”. A faithful person would argue that if religions weren’t in our lives, no one would have rules, beliefs, and a specific path throughout life. If something was to happen, they would have to rely on human knowledge and really...What is that?  A faithful person would have the religious stories, beliefs, and ways to give a person hope- if a person was to get sick, a rational person with rely on medication and if it doesn’t work..Oh well. However, a religious person would pray and hope that god will deal with it and fix it. I believe it’s important to be both rational and faithful. If you are both, you have a balance of life, a path to follow and knowledge to get you through life.
