An Endless Battle - Theme of Life of Pi

There are a great many of explorations and inquisitions that surround such an intricate idea of religion. Skepticism swarms this idea of belief in the unknown, considering that it is in fact unknown – there is only hope relating to religion to help support and prove the knowledge of a higher power. Some may see religion as mere folklore – stories fabricated to taint the thoughts of one, or give them something to rely on in their life. But, as folklore, they had never happened, never will happen and are simple stories created by the gifted mind on one’s imagination. But religion thrives and is quite alive, surviving despite the many argues of disbelief.

A person of faith would be incapable of fathoming the thought of loving gods from completely different worlds, holding different stories. To share a faith with multiple religions that would easily lead one another into battle over opinion. Just to think of such a concept would cause any worshipper to cringe. This can possibly relate to being close-minded about things, to only see your own ideas and thoughts and not perceive another’s. A devotee to religion would only care for that of their own, and not another. They would only seek out their reasons, and would faithfully stand beside it and fight for what they think is right – but how can we truly know what is right, or wrong? Isn’t it said that a man of many beliefs – or religions – is one that could appreciate and understand the ways of the world more? In today’s society religion is a tightly woven subject that could easily be offended and lead those who believe to become extremely defensive. But, those who do not believe are equally as defensive on their own opinions – that being that nothing such as a god exists in this world. Now, religion is a battle of the wits against that of love and faith. But truthfully, who can survive such a battle that is full of the abstract thoughts and great misunderstanding? With such a theme as religion. . the battle could be endless.
