Alright, I even knew I was going to make this post about the recent "Zombie Attack" as soon as I got the chance to make a free-topic post.
Now apparently the whole story is that some guy decided to start running around tearing chunks of flesh of peoples faces for the fun of it, right?
Wrong.
A new street drug called "Bath Salts" (methylenedioxypyrovalerone or MDPV) was starting to circulate around the Miami area and had probably been quite tempting to a man named Rudy Eugene who in autopsy was said to have taken it before the gruesome attack on 65 year old homeless man Ronald Poppo.
Must have been a little hot down in sunny Miami for Mr. Eugene to have stripped to buck naked in the middle of the street and that drug must have been pretty bloody powerful to induce a full attack on the helpless homeless man dozing in the shade on the side of the street. Allegedly Eugene had pounced on the man and began pummelling him and then sinking his teeth into Poppo's face tearing off strips of skin as he continued he attack. About 18 minutes in, officers finally spotted this horrid act and yelled at Eugene to stop what he was doing and raise his hands over his head. Eugene only growled them and continued his meal of the rare delicacy of homeless man meat. Eugene was fatally shot and Poppo rushed to the hospital with his face gruesomely disfigured.
Now people, news channels, and internet articles are screaming and raving about some insane "Zombie Apocalypse" that is supposed to descend upon the world. I mean don't get me wrong, a zombie apocalypse would be really exciting from what I've watched on television and read in books but at the same time that's just an unrealistic idea from the mind of a teenager who is infatuated with the supernatural way too much.
But my point really is, is that if there ever were to be some sort of rapture of this nature what would really happen to the world? Would it be an epidemic? A war? A mass disease?
The worlds end itself?
I highly doubt that. Its just a new form of drug known to cause hallucinations, paranoia, and violent behaviour.Even a Nova Scotia man recently described to CBC News how the feeling he had after using the drug was scary even for an experienced drug user. He said he felt like killing himself, or someone else, and he ended up in hospital. Just another drug made to make money and not to start an apocalypse.
Right?
