Life of Pi Questions

1. There are many ways that you can look at this question because there can be a lot of different perspectives. Pi believes that animals are no worse off in the zoos and in the wild, but, there can be some advantages and disadvantages as well. If you look at it this way, animals that are put in zoos have no interaction between animals of the same kind and that could deprive them from their social interaction. they are confined and they don't get to experience the freedom of running free in the wild.

2. It is possible to practice all three different religions but the down side is that some of the characters in  novel did not agree with Pi. This is because they didn't believe in having three religions all at once and that having all of the three, the teachings from different religions will collide with eachother and it won't work out.

3. The story did not bother me but, some of the scences that take place in the story were rather descriptive. For example, the part when the hyena tore off the zebra's leg was pretty gruesome. It almost felt real. If Pi can make you see pictures in your mind of whats taking place, I think that Pi is a great story teller.

5. Richard Parker is a tiger. He symbolizes fear because Pi brings back old memories of his father talling him not to go near tigers or other vicious animals. He will then "be the next goat". Richard Parker could also symbolize hope for Pi because, he can be a companion for Pi in his time of need.

6. Zoology and religion plays a big role in Pi's life throughout his childhood. Since his father owns a zoo of his own, he taught Pi a very important lesson, and that is not to go near dangerous animals. He later learned his lesson when his father brought in a goat and showed Pi what the tiger can do to it. That event has impacted how he viewed certain animals throughout his life.

7. and 8.Pi's story without the animals and replacing them with people he saw on the boat seemed different because it is a more rational and believable story compared to having the animals survive those times with him. 

9. The interactions between the author and pi gives more color to the story because the reader feels as though they are getting first hand information form pi himself through the author.

10. The significance of the name Pi comes from the mathematical term 3.14... and Piscine which is french for pool, forshadowing the middle of the story with the animals and the boat.
