Reel Canada is known to be a travelling movie film festival, featuring a series of different Canadian-made movies. Schools participate in this activity to help give them a better understanding of our culture. After watching whichever movies are showing during the festival, students are given the opportunity to meet some of the actors or actresses starring in the film - and can ask them questions to help dismantle their curiousity.
Though the experience may vary from student to student, the effectiveness of this organisation is to be questioned. In opinion, Reel Canada does an excellent job at boring those at hand, and brewing a slight distaste for our great country Canada. Despite the fact that Canada is low-budget in the film industry gives it no obligation to come out with movies with uninteresting and common plots. Of course, because we live in Canada we must produce movies on our wonderful hockey players, as well as making pointless movies with simple meanings; such as friendship, love or even to make the right choices in life. Such things do not appeal any longer to the age of most students, which leaves for all of us to seek out for something more - something that will just dazzle us. Reel Canada, is unable to achieve this with the selection of films.
But, despite all of this. . I would have to admit that at least some of the movies in the selection they choose each year at least a few are quite good. So, in conclusion Canada has the ability to create remotely flourishing movies that can please its viewers from time to time, but has much to work on.
