Reel Canada

Reel Canada is a mediocre version of Hollywood movies. It consists of mostly low budget-like films. The movies are pretty decent but when compared to Hollywood movies, it lacks in most areas. "Gunless" looked kind of like a "Cowboys and Aliens" film without the aliens. The films lacked in drawing the audience's attention. During the movies, kids were talking, Skittles were being thrown, and there were a couple of boos etc. Actions movies lacked action, emotional movies lacked emotion, and so on. From my point of view, the movies looked unreal, they looked fake, planned, there's none of the essence where all of the audience's attention is focused on the movie. Frankly, some of the videos I have just saw on Vimeo are more interesting than the movies made in Reel Canada. The lighting effects were poor and so was the overall video editing. The director we met stumbled when asked questions, and seemed uninterested, someone even asked when the real movie was going to start! Clearly, Reel Canada is not doing well, I wonder how come they are not bankrupt yet! I mean only showing movies to kids in Canada for FREE? That seems sort of irrational to make money. With that being said, for someone who has never seen any american movies or only watched 1-2 movies a year, Reel Canada movies may be a budget-wise choice for these people. For the majority of movie watchers, Reel Canada may seem like a bust and a waste of time.

ReplyDeleteThese films were more than capable of capturing the audience and are all more than mediocre. The audience was just unbelievably impulsive and obviously the question of when the movie was going to start was just a brainless way to attract attention. This is an extremely biased view from a 14 year old kid that obviously has no sense of what an actually good movie is supposed to be composed of. If you had bother to view the audience while you where immersed in the movies Richard you would have noticed dead silence -- a sign that the movies were interesting. If you actually thought that the audiences comments were not just foolish way kids try to attract attention then you were severely mistaken my friend

DeleteWow. Hairuo just went off on you. But as like everyone, I respectfully disagree with you. Whether someone likes the movies are completely opinion and taste but all the negative reactions were from people just acting stupid. Besides, it shows off the art of filmography more which isn't really taught much in schools anyways.
