Why are home-schools so appealing?

 Brian R. (2010). Academic Achievement and Demographic Traits of Homeschool Students: A Nationwide Study. Academic Leadership, 8(1), 1-26.
The article by Brian Ray offers information on the academic achievements of home schooled students in the U.S. through the use of quantitative data and graphs. In this article, homeschooled students are stated to be more academically and emotionally developed. This article answers my question by providing the theory that parents might find homeschools to be appealing because home schools may help their children thrive academically.

This article by Rwanowski revisits the 4 common myths surrounding homeschooling. The common myths about the type of people that find homeschools to be appealing are included in this article as well, which contributes to my question.

This article written by Cogan presents a study on homeschooled students and their academic performances by using numerical data and graphs. This article presents a few more reasons as to why homeschools are appealing to more parents through the kids’ academic achievements.

Scott D. and Janice A. (2003). Homeschooling and Canadian Educational Politics: Rights, Pluralism and Pedagogical Individualism. Evaluation and Research in Education, 17(3), 63-73.
This article by Davies and Aurini draws on secondary sources and data to provide information on homeschooling and educational politics. It is relevant to my question because it explains the concept of choosing homeschooling through a political point of view

This article written by Mark Eley features information on Homeschool Enrichment Centres, which helps kids become academically enriched while they are homeschooled. This connects to my question because it proves that there are many open options even when parents want to homeschool their kids, which makes homeschools so appealing, because you get to make a lot of choices for yourself, rather than simply following the system.
